Should I get a PC laptop or Mac?

Ok, first off ignore anyone who comes off and says one or the other. This issue is prone to fanboys who can't view it objectively.

Mac pros:
Basically immune to all current viruses
"Cool" factor
Less maintenance required

Mac Cons
Cost
"Cool" factor
Less support (many computer shops won't work on Macs)
Unless you've used a Mac before, there's a learning curve as it's far different from Windows

PC Pros
Cost
Easy to find support for it
You school probably runs PCs, so you probably already know ho to use it.

PC Cons
Susceptible to all viruses and malware currently in the wild
Required more maintenance
Some people just hate Windows (so, yeah, Windows, like Mac's cool factor, is both a pro and a con)

In the end no one, especially no one who doesn't know you, can tell you which system is best for you. Most stores have display laptops you can try out. Go try a few (though you may have to find an Apple store to get to try a Mac).

Should I get a PC laptop or Mac?

Macs are PCs just with a different Operating System and a higher price tag, which is how they can afford to provide better tech support.

If you know how to use Windows already and know how to handle yourself, stick to what you know get a much more powerful Windows PC for 1200 than a Macbook at the same price.

Typically more powerful hardware = greater longevity of ownership. What you can get on a Windows PC for 1200 bows away anything you can get on a Mac for the same price.

Only drawback of Windows these days is you will want to reinstall Windows once every 2 years (thou I've seen my friends with Macs reinstalling OSX just as often) and the odd virus, which if you don't click on stupid things, wont wind u up with ne viruses.

Don't let people brainwash you, Macs get slower over time just as with Windows PCs.

With modern versions of Windows, other than viruses they are just as good as Macs for stability (I haven't seen a blue screen of death in Windows for 9 years now) and performance (actually better for performance once u buy the right Computer hardware). All you have to invest in when you buy a Windows PC is a good anti virus and you're set.

This is the Laptop i recommend for all my friends and customers: -

4+ hrs of batter life
Excellent video card, will play a lot more than Sims i guarantee u.
Full 1080p monitor with HDMI out to plug into ur HDTV to watch ur videos on the big screen.
Regarding the built-in web cams, i have never seen a good one ever even on macs, but i know for a fact that if you have enough light, the studio's built in web cam is fine.
Core i5 quad core processor is notably better than anything the Macbook 13" has.

Cheers and I hope i cleared up any FUD standing in your way.

Hmmm, I will suggest that you should check out PC laptop because these laptops are really good, such as Dell Inspiron 1545 or HP Pavilion series laptops.

You can also go with Sony Vaio laptop, you can easily get more good laptops too. So I think you should check some of the other laptops.
