Christians, why did God have trouble with iron chariots? Is it because Yahweh is a Bronze age God?

(Judges 1:19) God's impotence in regards to iron chariots, could it be because he was created by the minds of desert nomads from the bronze age? (which precedes the Iron age)

God had no problem. Judah had a problem, because of their unbelief.
You are not a very astute reader.

The assumption is that because God was with Judah, they were therefore promised victory over their enemies. This is clearly a faulty deduction. It is true that nothing is impossible with God and that He was with Judah, but the problem was their disobedience. Even though they had earlier been assured of victory against their enemies with iron chariots in Joshua 17:18, they apparently became fearful and failed to trust God to give them victory. God is with the believer; nothing is impossible for Him to accomplish through those who obey Him. There is no contradiction.

If you are so smart you should try a little reading.

Isaiah 40:21

"Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood since the earth was founded?"

Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph were bronze age. When God promised the Holy Land to Abraham's descendants there was no iron use in the area. While they were in Egypt for 450 years, the Hittites, a hill tribe from north of the region, came into the area and established a powerful military empire, which was successful due to their ability to manufacture iron tools and weapons. When Moses and the Israelites returned from Egypt, the Hittites were already in decline, but iron working had not yet reached Egypt, so with their Egyptian technology they had a hard time contending with the superior armament of the inhabitants of the region at the time.

Nonetheless, God gave them victory and they eventually did take possession of the land God promised them. What about the gods of the Hittites? Their iron age idols did not save them. Today who worships Baal? Molech? Asherah? It's not the level of technology that counts, it's God.

We have had God's word from the beginning. Since the dawn of writing in Mesopotamia, the true word of God has been passed down to us, and we have Abraham's descendants with us too to show that God keeps His covenant with His people. What you flippantly mock is actually a profound proof of the truth of God's word. The false idols of ancient times are forgotten in dust, but the true word of God remains with us. Go ahead and worship whatever you wish of the most modern and fashionable ideas you choose to insist upon. Long after your television has turned to dust God's people will be rejoicing in His word, as they have been since the beginning.

satan did the same thing ,twist the word .
Judges 1:19 tells of a battle between Judah (a tribe of Israel) and a people of the valley and they couldn't drive them out because they had chariots made of Iron. because that's all God wanted them to drive out.
simple ,huh?

God wanted the people to depend on HIM. When other countries attacked he wanted the Jews to be known as the people who won against their enemies using farm tools and the forces of nature and it happened many times inthe Bible. But NO they wanted a King and war horses etc...

God didn't Judah did...

Judah didn't trust in the Lord from the beginning...Read the first part..God GAVE the land to Judah...Judah still went ahead and leaned on his brother and his own military to take what had already been given...So Judah couldn't take it, and therefore lost it.

I think clearing out 7 more powerful peoples than Israel qualifies Him as a great God.
