Wall of text hits for 9999 damage!

It's shown throughout history that when knowledge increases, the belief in myths decreases. That's why almost no one really believe any more in the greek and norse myths (zeus and odin and the like). It's the fate of religions

Yes, atheism (or at least people reporting they are "non-religious") is on the rise.

No, there is no government worship going on. Although there are plenty of people trying to get the state to sponsor their form of worship to the exclusion of all others, unconstitutional though that is.

No, ice cream should not be inhaled, only swallowed.

No, you did not actually ask a question.

I would say a full half of the atheist I know are, like myself, conservative in the general political bent. I have no more uncritical trust of the State than I do of religious authority.

Forget the wild claims of the number of christians!!

The churches own figures show only 28% ever attend church in a year. Indeed if 28% ever tried to attend church on the same day, even working shifts, there is simply not enough churches!!

But count the bars - in many places there is more space In the bars than the churches!!

Lets drink to that!!

I have understood the report to indicate a lack of interest in organized religion, not a lack of faith. Not surprising with a new round of abuse reports against various chapters of the christian church coming out of Ireland, and the church's refusal to accept proper blame OR offer a fair share of compensation to the victims. If I was still catholic, I'd be looking to leave organized religion too.
