What if Y!A posters stopped making generalizations? In my experience, men are just as emotional as women, they are simply encouraged to hide their emotions, so many, but not all, do.
Men do not have that much higher of a sex drive than women, nor are they that much more coy. Women just think they cannot get a man if they do not behave coy or if they talk about sex too much.
Men and women are equally self-critical, in my experience, but they're self-critical about different things.
Inherently, women aren't any more self-critical, coy, emotional, and sexless than men, but society encourages women and men to act in certain ways. Thus women are more likely to play up and cultivate these traits in themselves because they have learned that it is the way a woman should act. Men are more likely to suppress these traits in themselves because they have learned it is the way a man shouldn't act.
In a society where men and women had exactly the same upbringing, I bet we'd see about equal numbers of coy, emotional, self-critical, and sexless men as women. We'd also see about equal number of tough, rugged, rational, and sexually aggressive women as men. I think society certainly wouldn't be worse for this. As a matter of fact, it would probably be better, as people would not feel confined by their upbringing to behave in ways that they do not feel comfortable with in order to get the opposite sex to date them.
I don't see how women are more passive than men, except physically/sexually. If men were passive (i.e, receptive) sexually, reproduction would be impossible.
