Honestly and truly, I would look into having them custom made. Any larger city should have someone that will make pointeshoes, and the major brands often have a custom option available. It's not that much more expensive in the long run and it drastically improves your dancing.

You can also use jet glue to strengthen your box and lacquer to strengthen the shank of your shoe.

That said, you can only expect pointe shoes to live for about 20 hours - less if you have strong feet. I never get more than a month out of a pair. You may just be one of those people that needs to frequently replace your shoes. If this is the case, find a pair you like and get fitted and then just buy that exact size and model on E-bay. I bought three pairs of my pointeshoes for $40 and they retail at over $100 each. You just have to be absolutely sure they fit before you buy them.

Good luck!

This question is asked so many times here that I wonder if there isn't another possibility that no one's considering. Is it at all possible that you have flexible feet, but lack the strength to manage them? Do you knuckle over? If so, this will break down the upper edge of the box and put more strain on the shank than it was meant to withstand. None of us here can see you, so it's just guess-work on our parts, but ask your teacher to check the position of your toes relative to the floor when you are on pointe. The phalanges (toe bones) should be perpendicular to the floor. If yours are not, then you will need to strengthen the muscles on the tops of your toes.

I don't think you need custom made. Also I've never heard of a double shank it sounds weird. Try another shoe. Also Jet glue works pretty well. Pour it in the tip and on the inside along the edge of the shank all around
