I get so close to orgasming but why does the feeling just go away?

You're stressing that you can't orgasm which is making sex less enjoyable as you always want the big O at the end. Tbh there is not one woman you orgasms every single time she has sex. Just relax and try something new and exciting.
Don't worry about your guy , that's the important part. A man must orgasm to be happy. not too worried about the women cumming.

Wow, I had this same problem except he can still get pretty happy lol. I didn't want him to touch me for 2 weeks because I thought it was hopeless. Whenever he would try to touch me I'd move his hand away saying I wasn't in the mood. He was frustrated at me always turning him down. I started to feel sad thinking he might loose interest in me. Turns out it was the complete opposite, he got turned on every time we hugged (apparently he noticed everything about my body, even feeling my boobs when we hugged, etc) or laid down for a short while. One day he just sort of lost control and started touching me when we were laying down (after 2.5 weeks of no sex) and went all out. He kissed me the entire time and it took my mind off saying no. He really went all out to make sure I was happy (he's been "researching" apparently "fool-proof advise" lol...). Any who, I got really "happy" and my dry spell was done with :) the love-sick-sex-deprived fool was actually quite proud of himself hahahahaha
