I am very upset because sixteen candles is PG and can get away with saying f$$$k and the breakfast club is rated R and some of that stuff is done in PG 13 movies like talk about sex or smoking cracking movies today! do classics get rated terribly and today we can just say it's PG 13. Am I over exaggerating the situation Or right! I'm not that concerned but what about the parents that are?

Today's PG-13 was 20 years ago R. It's well known that the standards have gone down. Since the Movie Ratings are done by an independent Board they can rate them however they want. There is no official standard.

They were rated back in the times where certain acts were less tolerated. now those ratings cannot be changed.
