Premature ejaculation has three or four main causes:

- Hormone imbalance
- Weak sex muscles / inadequate blood flow to penis
- Anxiety / stress / worry
- Hyper-sensitive penis

The best way to treat premature ejaculation is to tackle all the causes, as this guarantees the highest rate of success.

There is no cure as yet for Premature Ejaculation; however there are a number of ways in which Premature Ejaculation can be successfully treated. It can also be dealt with by the man himself with help from a partner without the need for any other form of treatment.

Here are some simple techniques that a man can use himself to help to delay premature ejaculation and these are only a small example of them:

·Learning to control your arousal levels. There are four stages of erection of the penis; lengthening and filling, swelling, full erection and rigid erection. The last stage signifies that ejaculation is about to happen, once you reach this stage stopping and taking deep breaths will decrease the level of arousal to the third stage, which can prolong intercourse by prolonging the ejaculation. If practised frequently enough you will train your body to ejaculate later on in intercourse.

·Controlling your breathing.
Rapid fast breathing will encourage arousal and ejaculation. Breathing slowly and in a controlled way will decrease the arousal levels and improve the timing of ejaculation. Focusing on your breathing is also helpful on taking your mind of your genitals.

·Contracting your PC muscles. The PC muscles are the main muscles that help in controlling the timing of ejaculation, these muscles are found around the penis, scrotum and anus. This exercise is best practising while urinating, hold urination for a few seconds and then release back and hold for a few seconds. These helps the PC muscles contract and expand so this makes it easier for you to learn to control ejaculation.

·Apply pressure to the Perineum. The perineum is a spot between the anus and the scrotum which will totally stop the ejaculation. This is because the perineum reaches to the prostate gland and the prostate gland is responsible for expelling the ejaculation when arousal is reached. Your partner can help you buy applying gentle but firm pressure at this spot to help delay ejaculation and help to prolong sexual intercourse.
