I know people say implantation bleeding can only last 1-2 days, HOWEVER. while it may be rare i have read numerous sites that said it could last up to a week and also heard numerous stories.

so my question is- if you have implantation bleeding that last longer than a day on which day does the egg actually implant itself. the first day of bleeding? the last day of bleeding? or somewhere in between?

AND- how long after the bleeding stops should i be able to get a accurate result on an hpt?

Implantation is a process, not an instantaneous event. The blastocyst literally puts down roots into the uterus, and continues to expand the implantation site over time.

So the bleeding, if there is any, is caused BY the embryo implanting. You're not going to get implantation bleeding BEFORE implantation happens.

But it's only implantation bleeding if you are in fact pregnant. You can start testing 9-10 days past ovulation, or wait until your period is due.

ok as you have said its up in the air about implantation bleeding with my second child i had a very light bleed for about 3 days it was dark brown and only had to use pant liners rather then pads
they say you can get a positive result 2 weeks after implantation with a HPT i just waited till my period was due
