Take the quiz for yourself.

1. As regards pain, circumcision:

A. does not hurt.

B. Is excruciating for an infant as well as an adult. Tightening the circumcision clamp puts crushing pressure on a large area of sensitive skin.

2. The foreskin is:

A. a useless piece of skin

B. an integral part of the male sexual organ, containing most of the nerve endings of sexual pleasure.

3. During circumcision, the infant:

A. goes to sleep.

B. withdraws into a state of neurogenic shock (coma), due to sudden massive pain.

4. With respect to functions, the foreskin:

A. has no function. It is “just a piece of skin.”

B. has at least three major functions:

1. protection of the glans penis, an internal organ.

2. coverage of the shaft of the elongated, erect penis.

3. provision of most of the nerves for sexual response

(the ridged bands on the inner lining of the foreskin).

5. With respect to cancer of the penis, circumcision:

A. prevents it.

B. has nothing to do with penile cancer.(American Cancer Society, 1989)

6. With respect to ethics, a doctor who performs a circumcision:

A. is practicing reasonable medicine.

B. violates all seven Principles of the AMA Code of Ethics; violates a primary tenet of health care, First, Do No Harm; and violates the Golden Rule.

7. With respect to human rights, a doctor who performs a circumcision:

A. is within his rights.

B. violates a basic human right, the right to an intact body. The infant has the right not to have normal body parts removed without his express consent. The doctor has failed to obtain the informed consent of the mutilee. The doctor is violating the Nuremberg Code of Ethics, which regulates experimentation on humans.

8. With respect to safety, circumcision is:

A. safe

B. kills an unknown number of U.S. infants every year.

9. With respect to complications, circumcision has:

A. very few complications

B. a 100% complication rate – in every instance the loss of a useful organ. In addition, there are many unrecorded complications, including deaths. Health costs of circumcised boys 5x those of intact boys!

10. The loss of foreskin:

A. has no effect on later life.

B. contributes to inferior sexual relations, which leads to increased divorce rates, increased violence, increased exposure to sexually transmitted diseases, and contributes to impotence, especially after age 40.

Why do Americans cut off their foreskin?

Weird, isnt it?

Here they are proclaiming to the world that they are the best at everything, yet in this matter they are so far behind everyone else that they keep making up false excuses to perpetuate the terrible mutilations that they perform.

The only reason is because their doctors and hospitals make a huge amount of money out of it. They get money for the procedure then go on to sell the foreskins on the world market for skin grafts and other uses. Quite a motivation when you think of the millions of dollars this business generates. To heck with the morals of the thing - just make money!

Circumcision is cruel. It does not make a person cleaner, neater, safer, better or any other advantage. What it does is to take away the natural protection of the penis and remove countless sensory perceptors that contribute to making the penis an asset to men's sexuality.

It is as good to be circumcised as it is to cut off your eyelid so your eye no longer has the protection and lubrication it was designed to have. A male was born with a foreskin for a reason, and it was not so it could be cut off!

Please remember that the majority of men in the world are not circumcised. There are almost 7 billion people on Earth at the moment, and about half of them will be males. A little over 3 billion men are not circumcised, and those few that are mainly live in the USA and Israel.

The sooner the practice of circumcision is banned the better for all mankind!

The sooner the better. It is in fact assault on a child as it is (in the vast majority of cases) not medically indicated

What's the point of outlawing it?

I am totally against circumcision. It is an out dated practice that is done mostly due to religion, which makes it even a larger tragedy.

I do not remember the pain from my snip. My gf says it looks nicer than those with no snip. I have heard people say it makes them more sensitive, but I have no way to compare.

I know the purpose was to prevent to infection back before modern medicine, but like a lot of things, like not eating meet on friday, I think it is more tradition than a medical issue today.

Sorry. I don't take quizzes where one of the first words I see is foreskin.

1. Neither of those answers are correct. An adult circumcision is not excruciating pain. For an infant yes because the procedure is done without hardly any anestisia if at all, but and adult gets it. So that's a loaded question. (I don't appreciate anyone stretching the truth to prove a point) That's what the pro-circ crowd does and it pisses me off even more when antiinfant circ people do it because it makes you just as ignorant as those pushing the procedure on kids.

I dont' want circumcision to be outlawed in the US. I just want it to be banned in hospitals. That way people who are REALLY religious can get it done by a mohel in a church or at home. I really hate it when people claim they do it for religious reasons then have their son done in the hospital. The religious tradition says it should be done in a ceramony at home. Obviously your religion doesn't mean THAT much to you so stop using it as an excuse.

I doubt it will be banned .. because of the faiths that say it is crucial to their child's faith...

YET ... How many of us would allow other groups to perform female circumcision
on their daughters ??

I would probably be against it were it not for the vastly better medical benefits to having it done as opposed to not having it done. Do the research, it will be made very clear that circumcision is the better choice.
